Wesley Witherspoon of the Memphis Tigers

Last night was the last time you will see Wesley Witherspoon in a Memphis Tigers basketball uniform in a regular season game. He performed very well and showed me that he can play at the highest level. He finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. When he first came to Memphis in 2008, there were high expectations for him as a basketball player. But he didn't live up to those expectations as he suffered injuries throughout his career. His best season was in his sophomore year when he averaged 12.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. In his junior year, his points average went down to 9 and his minutes went from 25.6 to 22.9. This season he played a reserve role averaging 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 21 minutes per game. This guy showed a lot of heart this season and proved to be a great teammate. After last night, it has been great to follow Witherspoon throughout his collegiate career and I wish him the best with continuing his basketball career.

Will Barton of the Memphis Tigers

Will Barton has been the leading scorer for the Tigers all season long averaging close to 20 points a game. This guy reminds me so much of a young Penny Hardaway. He is quick, flashy, smooth, and very exciting to watch every game. Expect good numbers from the Baltimore Maryland native every time he hits the basketball court in a Memphis Tigers uniform. Many people are wondering will he return next season for the Tigers or will he jump ship to the NBA. It is too early to say but, we all will soon find out. As for last night, here is a clip from Will Barton being interviewed after last night's big win over UAB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNNFl_jPX68
