Adonis Thomas will return to the Tigers next season

Adonis Thomas stated yesterday in a news conference that he will be returning to the University of Memphis next season. This is good news for the Tigers basketball team due to Will Barton declaring for the NBA Draft last week. Adonis Thomas will be a scoring threat for the Tigers. He will now become a captain on the team and will have a big role in motivating his teammates to play their best. This is good news for the city of Memphis and can't wait until next season to see them in action.

No new news on Adonis Thomas

Since Will Barton has decided to take his talents to the NBA, Adonis Thomas is now in line to decided whether or not he will be returning to play for the Tigers next season or take his talents to the NBA. He has until April 10th to make his decision. As this story progresses, I will keep everyone informed.

John Calipari

Be on the lookout for another screw up from your's truly John Calipari, coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. Back in 2008, the Memphis Tigers were screwed out of 39 wins for the season and a runner-up national championship banner. This season, Kentucky just might get a taste of what happened to the Tigers over four years ago.It is a shame that not only he cheats the players out of a education but, he also cheats the fans and the basketball program.

One and Done System in College Basketball

John Calipari might have got off the hook with the NCAA violations made against the University of Memphis back in 2009 but, he will never win a national championship because, he doesn't keep a team long enough to get experience year in and year out. Derrick Rose and other players were taught and preached by Calipari to come and play for only one year. His players are being misguided and he is only teaching them the game of basketball instead of having them to think about other things that are more important than a sport. This year, Calipari has one of the most talented teams in the tournament but, can they handle the pressure in a tight game? Will he finally be able to get over the hump and win a national championship? There hasn't been a coach to win a prized trophy with only freshmen and there never will be. Memphis vs The Best

As I am continuing to watch the NCAA Tournament, I look at the teams and all of them except Kentucky have something in common; they are all half court offensive teams. The Memphis Tigers can run with any team in the tournament. The great guard play of Will Barton, Joe Jackson, Chris Crawford, and Antonio Barton was excellent this season giving a lot of teams pure hell. I have much respect for Josh Pastner at how he managed to keep his players for than one year and they were able to develop into better players. The only thing we were missing this year was another big man to go along with Tarik Black. Hopefully in the offseason, the recruiting class will have a 6"10 or 6"11 center who has good footwork, rebound efficiently, stay out of foul trouble, and shoot fairly well from the perimeter.

Two and done for Will Barton

From the Daily Helmsman newspaper on the University of Memphis main campus, Will Barton has decided to go pro only after two seasons at the University of Memphis. Will Barton led the team in scoring (18 per game) and rebounds (eight per game). Also he led the Tigers in field goal percentage, shooting 50.9 percent from the floor. This season he finished with 631 points and it was the third most points scored by a sophomore at Memphis, behind only Penny Hardaway (729) and Larry Finch (669). He also became the fourth Memphis player to be named Conference USA Player of the Year. Will Barton was an outstanding player at Memphis and I want to wish him well at the next level.

Decision time for Will Barton and Adonis Thomas

After an early exit in the NCAA Tournament by the hands of Saint Louis, Josh Pastner is now focused on next season. He has to first start with who will be returning next season for the Memphis Tigers. Will Barton and Adonis Thomas are projected to go in the first round in this June's NBA Draft. Also, will Charles Carmouche be in a Tigers uniform next season? Both Will Barton and Adonis Thomas will have until April 10th to decide whether or not they will be returning to play for the Memphis Tigers or take their talents to the NBA. Coach Pastner said that he will help both players make the decision that is best for the both of them and make sure that they will not have any regrets.

Sad end for the Memphis Tigers

College Students at the University of Memphis

At the University of Memphis and many other four year institutions, there are more women than men trying to get their degree so, I have done a video interviewing some of the students who attend the University of Memphis check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z9hO-kULJA&feature=youtu.be
